Jefferson Medical Center Hosts 5th Annual Community Baby Shower

WVU Medicine Jefferson Medical Center will host its fifth annual Community Baby Shower on Saturday, May 6 from 10 am until 1 pm. Mothers and fathers-to-be as well as new moms and dads are invited to celebrate new life and parenthood by attending this free educational event, to be held in the first floor conference room at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson.

“The purpose of the Community Baby Shower is to provide a forum for expectant and new families to learn about topics that are important to the health and well-being of new babies,” stated Dana DeJarnett, health promotion and outreach coordinator. According to DeJarnett, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Jefferson Medical Center professionals and community representatives to get answers to questions regarding all aspects of pregnancy to birth, to baby and beyond.

Information will be provided along with door prizes and refreshments.  Community vendors will also be on site with information and giveaways.  Free blood pressure checks will be offered along with tours of Jefferson Medical Center.  Expecting moms will also have the opportunity to have an ultrasound picture taken of their baby, courtesy of the radiology department.
