Charles Town’s Claymont Mansion will host a holiday open house tour from noon to 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 10th. The historic Georgian-style mansion was the home of Bushrod Corbin Washington the grand-nephew of George Washington. The original home, built in 1812, was so grand in style, it became known as Bushrod’s Folly. A self-guided historical tour of the Mansion and grounds will be offered, as well as light refreshments. A suggested donation of $5 dollars will help support the restoration of the Mansion veranda. Located at 577 Claymont Mansion Road, Charles Town.
