Charles Town’s Claymont Mansion will host its annual Holiday Open House Tour on Saturday, December 15th and Sunday, December 16th, both days from 1:00 to 4:00pm. The Historic Georgian-style Mansion was the home of Bushrod Corbin Washington the grand-nephew of George Washington. Built in 1823 and listed on the National Historic Register it is the grandest of the Washington Family homes.
This year we will be showing off the newly restored North Portico Entrance thanks to a Matching Grant from the WV Historic Preservation Society. A self-guided historical tour of the Mansion will be offered, as well as light refreshments. A suggested donation of $5 dollars will help support the ongoing restoration effort. The Mansion is located at 577 Claymont Mansion Road, Charles Town. For additional information call 304-725-4437 or email: email@example.com.
