The United States Mint invites you to attend the ceremonial launch of the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park quarter on June 8, 2016. The 33rd coin in our America the Beautiful Quarters® Program is the third quarter to be released this year. The reverse (tails side) design of this new coin features John Brown’s Fort, the site of John Brown’s last stand during his raid on the Harpers Ferry Armory. Inscriptions are “HARPERS FERRY,” WEST VIRGINIA,” “JOHN BROWN’S FORT,” “2016” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
The launch ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. (ET) on June 8 at the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park Lower Town on Hamilton Street, along the Shenandoah River (Harpers Ferry, WV). This event is free and open to the public. All children who attend the event will receive a brand new Harpers Ferry National Historical Park quarter from the United States Mint. There will be a coin exchange immediately following the ceremony where coins can be obtained for face value (1-roll minimum / 10-roll maximum, cash only).
